This is my new male canary, JACQUES. If ya ever heard a male canary sing, you'd know why they cost over $100. I created a ruckus when I stuck my camera in the finch aviary but got some good shots of the little birds in flight!

Got paid today and bought this really cool chicken sculpture... I let the coop out so they could check it out (or ignore). My swing is one of my favorite places...ah life is good when I am off work. Listening to neil young, lynard skynard, lovin' spoonful, martin denny.

shaved coyote and me

had the day off, so went into Houston to see Sarah... I took her out for Greek food....love the dolmades and baklava but I guess I could have been more ambitious and had moussaka... Sarah gave me a Tori Amos CD for Mother's day... there's an awesome pic of Tori on the front of the cd - holding a chicken. I now want to pose with one of MY chickens and do a self portrait especially since I've been doing portraits of co workers at the home depot all year long :)
Sarah will be leaving for Virginia for summer to intern with her friends' Mom, who is a genetistist. That should be great experience for Sarah's career in medicine!

Diamond dog had her annual shave today. And I colored my hair. I was born a tow head blond but by 20 I was dirty blonde. Now my hair mousey brown with a little gray. So why not be a brunette? I am having' fun!

When I first started drawing (seriously) I did HOME PORTRAITS for people. I have always loved drawing local architecture. These are all local landmarks near the Houston area.

April is kinda of tough for me.

Both of my parents passed away in April. My Mom died on April 26 1998 and Dad died April 22 2002. I nursed my Mom for a year before her death - she had a brain cancer called glioblastoma. (good book about this cancer is "death be not proud")

Dad was born in Queens NYC and of Norwegian heritage. For over 35 years, he was an engineer for MW Kellogg. He met my Mom in Yugloslavia in 1955. She was a radiologist and became a ft housewife taking care of me and my 2 brothers... all 3 kids were born in New jersey USA but we grew up near London, England. That was my Mom's favorite city. We all moved back to the states in 1975.

My parents are both buried in Fairbanks Alaska where my 2 brothers live. My Mom was a joyful person & a superb knitter. Later in Dad's life, he did amazing petit point work... and he loved to create rock gardens and always planted roses for my Mom. They played a lot of bridge tournements togther! God bless their souls.

The man in the sweater is my late father. The old lady is entitled "gypsy" The young gal is my co- worker, Stephanie and the young man is another co- worker "Felix". The man with the mustache is Richard, who renovated my house. Enjoy! I am currently working on more portraits of co workers at the home depot.

Life is good, I sell appliances at the home depot; I do portraits of co- workers at the home depot :) ... AND I HAVE MY HOME INTERNET BACK. Dial up, but none the less - INTERNET!
