THE ROCKS (a poem about the feral cats in the Galveston area)

Who would know

about the rocks

near the beach

where the wild cats roam

just out of reach?

***

A pride of little lions

yellow and black

miniature tigers

that leave no track.

***

Grey tabbies and Siamese,

Persian kittens

such are these

too wild to touch

they are free.

***

By the salt waters edge

cats frolic and roam

emerging from cracks

near briney foam

amongst seaglass and weed

they are home.

nice one
is it factual
never seen cats on a beach
there is something special about feral cats
scotland does have a breed of wild (as opposed to feral) cat but i've never been lucky enough to see one

forget to say - loved the pic and the way you show the camouflaged cats blending into the rocks

cheers

they just live in and out of those rocks...and eat fish and garbage. Some of these cat groups set traps and try to sell them through the spca, but they are never quite tame.

Love how you've semi-hidden the cats in the drawing. Highlights their stealthy nature. Love this!!

yeah I love those "subliminal cats", thanks for the comments.
